Roommate’s listening to this song. I first heard this song in conjunction with Lim’s video This Is How It Works for synecdochic’s “Freedom’s Just Another Word For Nothing Left to Lose,” and my grandfather dying. I tear up every time.

#moment of honesty: these two lines bascially inspired a 37K fic

And thank goodness they did, because the other side (is always greener) is a gorgeous read. Plus, the video thedeadparrot made for it it also consistently strums my heartstrings.

I have always wanted to actually write TSN fic, and then participate in a Social Network remix thing, and then fortuitously be assigned you, so I could write this fic from Mark’s perspective. I have these beautiful dreams of the cold shock to hear Eduardo talking about his real home, the kingdom. And Mark’s entirely unsatisfying but authentic and true way of trying to help, his research, his bargaining. Oh my gosh, Mark and the sea witch. I don’t even know how I would write that. But, guh. This fic gives me all the ideas.

Jesus Christ, this fic was so good, so good, so good. Insanely good. The formatting worked, the everything worked. The writing style hit me viscerally and intellectually and everything in between. It was fucking amazing. I loved every second of this and I’m sure that, after the heartbreak becomes less fresh (after months), I will be re-reading it for a really long time after this, and savoring every character in it. I loved this really deep down in my being. Honestly, what a goddamned fucking amazing fic.
