It Gets Better - fun.
So, let’s talk about how this is the product of when the fun. crew sat down and had a seance for Newfound Glory and Blink 182 at the same time. Because it is.
Additionally, I really want to do a study of all the different ways they use starlight and sunlight and light in general on this album. Because, “when I see stars, that’s all they are,” from “Some Nights” has started to sound less like the confident assertion that it tries (succeeds?) to come across as in the song, and more like a desperate mantra from someone struggling to detach themselves from their own emotions, direction and purpose in the context of the album. Especially when it gets echoed in “Why Am I the One.”

Welp, yesterday I managed to pretty much do exactly nothing I needed to do AND AT THE SAME TIME get triggered by material about sexual assault (HOORAY), so today I am GENUINELY, REALLY, NO REALLY turning on the SelfControl app, because clearly I have NO self control right now for whatever myriad of reasons that has chosen to become delightful cocktail in my brain. Woo!
Here are some of the delightful things I will be accomplishing today: making my bed, taking a shower and putting on meds and sunscreen, packing for my trip home, activating the Groupon I have for Bikram yoga, finishing my grad school assignments and turning them in, evaluating what I will be doing on my portfolio, continuing to clean my room, returning things I purchased that I don’t need/want anymore AND looking for the other receipts for my Anthropologie stuff, talking to my roommate (we haven’t moved out yet, Self, and you both spent the whole day in the same house alone; stop being that asshole who is pulling away emotionally just because you’re hurting), and eating only fruits and vegetables because yesterday I had a lot of carbs and now I feel super sick.
So, yeah, tl;dr — GPOY.
